Cuyahoga County Public Library has 25 Friends of the Library groups who volunteer their time and energy to help raise funds to support Library programs, exhibitions, special events and more. The library accepts Teen Volunteers beginning with the summer after 5th grade, ending with the summer after 12th grade, and everything in between! As a Teen Volunteer, you can earn service hours to fulfill school and organizational requirements, have fines forgiven from your library account, and gives you the chance to give back to your community. Yes, volunteers need to commit to a regular, weekly schedule for a minimum of 6 months. Due to the time involved in bringing in new volunteers, as well as the cost associated with background checks for volunteers, the library only allows volunteers to begin when they have committed to a schedule and a minimum length of volunteer service.
